Hi, my name is Creon, King Creon, but you can also call me Lord or Divine Ruler which ever you prefer. My therapist recommended I find some sort of support group – so here I am. I am the King of Thebes and have been ever since my brother-in-law was dishonorably removed from his position (but that’s another story). I take my duties very seriously and demand the respect of my people. I find myself struggling to fit in with the rest of the world and find everyone’s so called “progressive” ideas infuriating and disturbing. For example, I hear in some parts of the world they are allowing women to vote and hold office – what utter nonsense! Of course, it doesn’t really matter what other countries are doing, so long as my people respect me and follow my rules. At least, that’s what I used to think. Certain events in my life have forced me to reevaluate my beliefs and my ideals. I am still coming to terms with all that has happened and struggling to understand other people’s feelings, but I’m afraid I still have a long, dark road ahead of me. I often feel like there is a stigma associated with dictators and we are often seen as people who don’t deserve love or sympathy. I’m hoping to find people who understand my pain and see past my political position.

Greetings from one king to another, Creon. My dearest king, your story seems very dismal. Who has destroyed your life and hurt your very soul? Let me guess, a woman? They seem to be at the root of all things evil and despicable. Oh how they toy with our emotions! Don’t let them drag you down, my friend. There are a few good ones out there. My wife, for example, is a wonderful woman; although, she does have some very interesting ideas about the world sometimes. She was just telling me about those women voters you mentioned. Very odd indeed. What is this world coming to? I must say I was skeptical about joining this site, and yet I have to admit I am very intrigued by your story. I look forward to discovering more about you and your sad tale.
